Leslie Sansone Weight Loss Walk
Last night I did Leslie Sansone’s Weight Loss Walk. It’s supposed to be a 4 mile indoor walk and it was about an hour long. Let’s just say I was severely disappointed in this one.
The good - well it was an hour long of steady state cardio.
The bad - just about everything else in this video. It is an old video - probably circa early 90’s and it seems to have been made when she was first starting out. She does NOT mirror cue in this one. She’ll say something like okay, march starting with your right foot - but if you mirror her, you would actually start with your left foot. I guess it doesn’t bother some people, but it bugs the heck out of me.
Okay, so the video starts with her coming into her “living room,” turning the light on and kicking her sleeping husband off the couch. Huh? She then goes into a warm up and it is so obvious she is in a studio - but part of the “background” is a window that is supposed to be showing outside the room - but it’s obviously a blue screen effect thing. What’s really bizarre about it is that during the warm up, the sky goes dark and then there is a lightening storm. A Lightening Storm! That’s just too bizarre.
The next section starts and 3 of her “friends” come in to join her for this section. Okay, cool, backup exercisers. Except one of them is male - no big deal - who stands/workouts behind her - no big deal again - except that he is obviously watching her ass the entire workout. I mean full on staring and smiling. It was just a little, well a lot, weird.
Then the third segment starts and 3 different “friends” come out to workout with her. Okay, except one of them is older and she shows signs of difficulty completing the workout. Just odd - really odd.
The workout itself was pretty boring. It consists of the basic walking in place, knee raises, kicks and hamstring curls. But, the pace of the whole thing seemed pretty slow and I don’t think it got my heart rate up at all. I think it might have about 40 minutes into the workout when I just upped the intensity a bit on my part.
I really should have gone on the treadmill yesterday instead, but it was so damn hot, I just couldn’t bring myself to do it.
