Get Ripped!

Get Ripped! I didn’t work out on Tuesday since I thought I should take a rest day – well that and my Grandma left for the mainland on Wednesday and so she was up late.

So Wednesday, I did Get Ripped! by Jari Love again. I hadn’t done it in a little while so I was worried that I would have to use lighter weights than I did before, but I rocked it and could still use my heavier weights for it. I really love this workout. It works you thoroughly without killing you.

One exercise she has you do are chest presses and I used my barbell for that. I only used a 13 pound barbell, but I think next time I do this I am going to use the max weights I have for it which would be 17 pounds. Oooh. Yea I know it doesn’t sound like much, but my upper body strength is pretty lacking.

I love the barbell I have actually. It’s a Danskin barbell made for women that was available at WalMart for a time.

The only thing that sucks about it is that Danskin seems to have discontinued it and so the only place I know of to get additional weight plates for it is ebay. The one I have is actually my second one since I had gotten one when I was in Portland, but left it there since it would have been too much to ship. Grrr. I also got an extra set of weight plates for it, but those are still back in Portland too, unless Tom got rid of them. Grrr. I guess I can look around to see if other weight plates fit the bar, but the nice thing about the Danskin plates are that they are rubber coated, so you don’t have to worry about getting grease stains on the floor since a lot of other plates seem to have that metal residue on them.
