Swimming!

Thursday was a definite rest day for me. I just took it easy and ran some errands that I had been neglecting and then watched the final disc of season 2 of Battlestar Galactica.

I am really loving that show. I’ve been meaning to watch it on the Sci Fi channel, but thought I would try to catch up with the previous seasons before jumping into season 3. I just found out that season 4 is going to be the last season of the show, so I am hoping that Sci Fi runs a season 3 marathon this summer or fall before season 4 starts. It’s kind of a hard show to describe. It is not like the show from the 70’s - it’s better. It really is a character driven show - kind of along the lines that Firefly was a character driven show. Now, I just need to wait for Blockbuster to send me season 2.5, so I can find out what happens with this last doozy of a cliffhanger! I can’t wait to see how it all turns out.

I went swimming again Friday! Woot! I didn’t stay long though. I went with Fred again and he picked me up kid of late since he told his co worker he would give her a ride to Canon. She lives on the other side of the south shore and then he had to come back all the way to Kalihi to get me. So, it took him about an hour and a half to go 20 miles in our wonderful rush hour traffic.

We only did 4 laps this time, but it was still fun. While we were resting between laps I had fun doing handstands in the water - the only kind of hand stand I can do!

We then went to the Canon opening and pigged out - I mean really pigged out. I didn’t think I was that hungry, but then once I started eating, I couldn’t stop. Ach. I really do have PMS now.

Then, after that, we headed to Dave & Busters to meet up with people for drinks, (for them), and game playing. I got a free soda since I told the bartender I was the designated driver, even though I wasn’t. Doh. I don’t really drink and every once else was drinking, so it looked kosher. Heck, the soda probably costs the company just a few pennies anyway.

I still don’t quite get the appeal of that place though. I mean there’s a restaurant with okay food, there are like 3 bars in that place, so it appeals to the drinking crowd I guess, and there are a bunch of so so video games. A lot of people go crazy over those midway games that give you tickets though, which I always find really funny since people will spend a lot of money trying to earn tickets to “buy” stuff that probably cost a lot less than what they spent to get the tickets.

We were planning on going to the gym after Dave & Busters, but Fred was pretty tired, so we skipped it. We should go tomorrow though.

All in all, I guess it’s been a pretty busy week for me. I joined the gym and went twice, HA!, I went swimming 3 times, had dinner with my Mom’s friends visiting from the mainland, saw my optometrist and saw Pirates of the Caribbean : At World’s End. I don’t want to say too much about it, but just a reminder - there is a final scene after the credits, so if you see the movie and really gotta pee, head out as soon as the movie is over and then get back to the theater!

I think I am finally ready to get my life back in order. I just need to start doing more things and taking better care of myself.
