I Got Nothing
Yea, I woke up today feeling a bit under the weather so I didn’t do anything today except get up and then take a nap.
The excitement never ends around here. Yup.
I’m just writing this since it is National Blog Posting Month. Of course I didn’t realize it until almost a week passed, so I figured I should just try for the 30 days straight anyways.
Oh yea, I am trying to brush up on my German again. It’s been years since I’ve actually used it and I admit, I have forgotten a lot of it - possibly most of it. :( I am using The Everything Learning German Book. I picked it up a couple of years ago and never went through it. Doh. I am still hoping/dreaming that I will be able to travel to Europe within the next year or so. I would love to be able to converse in German if I ever make it back to Germany then too.
If this goes well, I am going to try to teach myself some basic French too. I saw that there are podcasts you can download from iTunes on learning foreign languages, so hopefully those will help. I used to dream about moving to France - mostly because I was completely enamored with French techno music.
I really miss Europe. For those of you who don’t know me, I was a foreign exchange student during my senior year of high school. I lived in the Black Forest region of Germany for a year. Not to sound trite or anything, but it really was a life changing experience. I really enjoyed the “European” style of life. I did travel a little around Germany and Europe, but I didn’t travel enough.
I just find Europe utterly fascinating. I’ve always wanted to see Greece, Florence, Italy and London. I’d also love to experience the Parisian night life. But, it just boggles my mind that I could be somewhere, like a marketplace or a square for example, and be looking at something with the same sort of amazement or wonder that someone else did, 500 or 1000 years ago.
Well, I guess it’s time for my next dose of vitamins and I am off to bed again. Whopppeeee!!!
